Update from Mike Matessino’s Facebook page:
Announcing the launch of Jaws50Music.com. This is a landing page and portal for all of the 50th anniversary JAWS soundtrack releases.
As the video states, there are TWO recordings of John Williams’ indelible music for Steven Spielberg’s classic… the Academy Award-winning “Original Motion Picture Score,” coming from Back Lot Music and Universal Studios, and the separately made album recording: the GRAMMY-winning “Music From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack,” coming from Universal Music Enterprises and Geffen Records/Interscope.
It was my privilege to undertake the restoration, remixing and remastering of both recordings. Check out the website for info and links.
More news and updates to come.
A big thank you to The Legacy of John Williams for creating the video.
On June 20, Back Lot Music released digitally a newly remastered version of John Williams’ complete for Jaws. An older mix of the Academy Award winning score was released on CD1 of the Jaws 40th Anniversary 2CD set.
The full album is available on all digital streaming platforms now, and available to purchase on vinyl from Mondo.
An all-new remaster of the original album recording (previously released on CD2 of the Jaws 40th Anniversary 2CD set) will be released on vinyl on October 17, while a 3-CD set featuring both all-new remasters, including previously unreleased tracks, will be available from Intrada Records on August 26.
